Destiny 2 is Bungie’s latest FPS game. It was released on September 6, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release date of October 24, 2017. Destiny 2 is a free-to-play game with in-game microtransactions. The first Destiny was released in 2014 and was met with mostly positive reviews. How does Destiny 2 compare? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons.
PROS:
– Destiny players who do not purchase the expansion pass will be able to play all content up to level 20 without paying a dime.
– The story is much more cinematic and engaging than the original Destiny.
– There are more story missions and side quests available at launch than in Destiny.
CONS:
– Destiny’s endgame content was criticized for being repetitive and not offering enough variety. It remains to be seen if Destiny will suffer the same fate with Destiny II.
– The microtransactions in Destiny II are more intrusive than those in the original game. For example, players can purchase Bright Engrams (loot boxes) that contain cosmetic items. There is also a new currency called Silver that players can purchase with real-world money in order to buy Bright Engrams.
Overall, Destiny II is an improvement over the original Destiny in many ways. The story is more engaging, there are more side quests available at launch, and the microtransactions are more intrusive. However, it remains to be seen if Destiny II suffers from the same problems as Destiny when it comes to endgame content. I’ll be playing Destiny II for the foreseeable future, so I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for reading!
